The Red Dust and Paddy Melons Community Gallery is situated in the main street of Hillston, 170 High Street. Opening hours being 930am to 430pm Wednesday to Sunday.

The Red Dust and Paddy Melons Community Gallery is a terrific canvas for show casing local and regional talent and harnessing the talent of the future. This is achieved by holding workshops for adults and children on a regular basis and exhibiting local art and craft. Peoples work is for sale by commission. It is a non-profit organisation run by Hillston Creative Arts Council members on a voluntary roster. All monies raised though workshops and commission on sales goes toward the running costs of the gallery and to help fund more workshops.

The gallery was originally initiated due to a lack of art teachers in our schools, and there was a huge demand for children wanting to learn different arts.

Two murals have been painted, one is situated on the local IGA store which was painted by seven art council members and the other is on a stage wall at the Merriwagga hall, painted by Joan Vagg and Catherine Byrne. All the funds generated from the works have helped out in the running of this wonderful community project.
